2 ideas about YT:

1. YT should be in the pvp chat channel, so it can be joined or left at will.

2. There is a serverwide pvp message system currently on LIVE. However it is more specific in detail. For example: In South Karana, Billbike has been slain by Sonondso with the help of a few friends.

Personally I would like to see it go further into detail and disclose PVE details when they influence PVP. For example: In Plane of Fear, Billbike has been slain by Sonondso with the help of a few NPCs.

I like YT because it lets me know where pvp is happening and lets me go there and pvp. Its not such a big deal before max level, but at max level its hard to find others who are willing to pvp or able to pvp.

the thread i made with the poll showed a majority of the voters(70% of 80+ voters) wanted at least some sort of yellow text, most of them voting for serverwide as opposed to zonewide

If the reasoning for the broadcasts is to promote pvp awareness and not ego stroking then why not have a system in place that broadcasts big pvp battles. If several deaths occur in the same zone it could mention that there has/is a battle occurring in the zone with x players involved. Possibly mention guild names if it's a definitive guild vs guild.

Just trying to come up with ideas as a compromise.

YT is 100% ego stroking, and reduces the amount of pvp it takes to have the entire server aware of who you are.

So, those clamoring for YT would have to pvp more to get their names out there.

As for "knowing where pvp is"... that is the most fucking stupid shit I have seen someone say about classic EQ. Port to LS, zone into Sol B. Port to Sro, head to Lguk. Port to QRG, head to Perma. Wow, you just checked 99% of the pvp spots in classic.
