Necro VS Shamy for Velious

So I want to focus on one toon to get ready for Velious. I have an Iksar Necro and an Ogre Shaman. I want to group and also be able to do some solo/farming. Both classes can do well but I remember a lot of mobs summoning in Velious. Will that be a huge disadvantage for the necro?

Necros are damn near useless except for corpse summoning / pumping in velious. Resists make landing anything near impossible on raid targets and then there's debuff slots... Oh, and shamans become gods in velious o_o

Shaman are Gods in general, particularly for Velious.

Necros might have a LOT of fun things they can do as well, but Shaman are more powerful overall.

Any opportunity I've had to start a fresh main on an EQ server has been blown by not creating a shaman. I just can't stand being a buff whore..

No other equally geared class is going to out solo a shaman on tough solo targets in Velious. The only real competitor is going to be an enchanter. Malo + Torpor + pet + some instant clickies /thread.

Wouldn't necro solo better out doors with fear kiting or we just talkin high end mobs dungeons ext
