Raising archery skill with melee weapon?

I seem to remember a long long time ago there was an item, that would raise archery skill, but you would use in melee range. The item had a graphic icon that looked like 3 blades of grass.

I seem to remember it being bought around Kithicor, but I can't be sure.

Anyone remember what this was, and whether it was even classic?

No idea, I raised archery in classic on some perma rooted mob in the karana's that I now can't remember where it is or if it's still there.

I kinda remember tiny daggers being used early on, but it got nerfed. Something like that. Haven't tried it here.

As far as training archery... the nexus scion is a good idea, and depending on your level you can also go to Kael Drakkel from the Eastern Wastes and autofire the Herald guy at the zone in. He's perma rooted and doesnt summon.

You are not making it up. I remember it, but it got nerfed IIRC.
