Hey. It's classic right? So let's get that coded in for the blind devotion to classic for ill or good. Right? I mean it may benefit players, but it's classic so we have to do it!

so bloody true but wtf can ya do

Amazingly, it seems 99.5% of the server doesn't have VP keys.

Maps i can live without, life tap nerfs were going to happen eventually anyways, spellsets were pretty spiteful and unnecessary, but whatever.

But the helm graphic? C'mon, it's been a bad day to be a 60 necro. Forcing everyone to see my pointy hat is like getting pushed to the ground all day and *THEN* kicked in the nuts. a gnome can only take so much.

Just going out on a limb here, but I doubt the helm graphic was intentional. Helm on/off has always been a bit inconsistent in the client, and Rogean posted somewhere that he forced Velious textures on for all clients through the .dlls

That likely forced helms on as a byproduct. It seems a bit unnecessary, since they will automatically come on when the server's expansion is set to Velious. At that point, anyone who wants to see them, will be free to take the time to dick around in their eqclient.ini

If you go into options and click the helm graphic on and then off again, it will remove the graphic. Unfortunately, you have to do this each time you zone.

The problem with that is that it's a setting that only updates when you zone. So what you're seeing applies to your client's viewport exclusively, and doesn't actually represent a change in the setting.

Any news for those of us who still can't get the game to run? We've tried all the things that have been suggested and it has been over 24 hours now.

Food duration changes didn't happen until after Velious though:

Food Changes:
Food items now have a 'duration'. This means that some food items will not sustain a character as long as others, and some items will sustain your character longer than they did before.

I was confused at first, but here's what I did:
Open the Everquest folder.
Hit Ctrl+F (opens the 'find' function)
Find the 2 items the pop up window says to delete
Delete them

I was stumped at first, but it was simple in the end.
