NPC Spawn Issue: Hasten Bootstrutter - Ate quest items , no reward

I handed Hasten Bootstrutter a ring of the ancients, a shadowed rapier, and 325 platinum and ate them but he did not give me Jboots Someone was hailing him at the time with the intent of keeping him still for me and im afraid that might of caused him not to register the turn in...and yet he did not give anything back. I even said all of the necessary dialogue while running after him before got him stopped again for turn in.

I dont know of anyone else experiencing this bug.

I really hope someone can check the logs to see I did the turn in and got no reward. I dont even have to go into how annoying and long this quest is and how frustrated I am to fail on turn in and LOOSE the items.

dont you have to turn in the 3250 gold he asks for? not the plat conversion

-Shadowed Rapiers can be gotten from many zones, no explanation needed there.
-Ancient Cyclopses are rare spawns in South Ro, South Karana, and OOT.
-You must pay him 3250 GP, not 325 PP.

oh shit..

So maybe its also "classic" for the NPCs to NOT hand back items if you screw up the turn in??

same with fire opals in sol ro temple, 550gp. i wasted 55p testing it too.

Funny that they have you chasing after a speedy little gnome whilst obviously being encumbered with a shit load of gold. I left the rapier and the money on a corpse and ran after him dragging it

I'm in the same boat. I am just patiently waiting for a GM... wouldn't hurt to reimburse my ring at the least.

EDIT:

In classic you could just run him over another 3250 gold and he should give you the boots because the DB would see you have the turn ins already.

Unfortunately the db doesnt work that way here, so I think this should be reimburse-able by GMs. let me know if you have any luck
