We used to have bus monitors when I was a kid (this was around 25 years ago) and I never remember anyone doing anything like this. Regardless it was just very disrespectful and just ridiculous. Where was the bus driver in all of this? This was probably some inner city bullshit.

Driving the bus? lol

You can tell by the surrounding area (pixels, seeing a lot of buses in my time etc) that they aren't at the head of the bus. Likely somewhere near the middle judging by the seats surrounding her and the number of people that pass to get off the bus (the seats indicating it's not the front, the passing people indicate it's not the back...unless they get off via the fire escape). The kids weren't overly loud, especially amongst the background children and the loud ass ear rape that is the sound of a moving school bus (or any other heavy diesel vehicle. I rode the bus when I was in high school If there's one thing I will never forget about my school experience it's how fucking loud that thing is between the other kids and the bus itself during the drive home. And the louder it is, the louder people talk, it gets even louder etc) and she sure wasn't making any noise to indicate the situation. Odds are the driver didn't hear, or even know, this was going on until the bus' route was complete.

She said that she was going to donate money to various charities. Somebody wanted to pay for her to take a nice vacation away from that job, and it went viral.

I heard one of the kids say that he bet that she had no family because they all committed suicide since they couldn't stand to be near her. She actually had a son who committed suicide ten years ago. I rode the bus with some really bad kids back in the day. But none of them did anything to hurt an innocent old lady like that. I hope she does take a chunk of the money and take a couple of long vacations before retiring for good.
